Our Rabbitry
The new indoor rabbitry.
After building the 2nd new barn, I have since decided to go ahead & turn my spare room on the garage into a rabbitry. This room was build for me as a scrapbook room. It has a/c, plenty of light & a nice big picture window. We are in the process of getting it ready for the rabbits. We have put in lanolium & are hanging a type of tile board called plas-tex. It is a thin white sheet of plastic made to hang on walls. This will protect my dry wall & this room is pretty much water proof now with the exception of the ceiling. I plan on triple stacking my cages so I can get the maximum use of my room. The room will hold 140 cages with the way I have it planned out. There will be 39 brood doe cages that will be 18x24 & the rest will be show stock cages that will be 16x24. We are also adding a lot of extra goodies to my room as well. It is going to have running water, a really nice counter w/ a cabinet underneath it that will hold a bale of pnut hay. This is just to name a few of the things that I plan on doing.
The newly built barn is 16x30 & is now going to be my peacock room. We were going to have to build a pen for them the same size as well, so this is going to work out perfectly. We are going to have to make a few adjustments before I move my peacocks over to "The Peacock Room", as it is now called!
